I make it a point to return any EBay or Pay Pal Phishing Emails, I send the whole thing to them as foreward, as I have it set in address book to return to ebay or paypal spoof. They reply and say they will check it etc and sometimes get results but then I get this note from them saying I need to send the "headers also"?? I sent all I have--I don't understand this answer or is that really coming from Ebay? I don't click links any I get, If I have anything there, I go seperate way into My Ebay as I found suspected tricks there also. I hope this makes sence.

I always send my phishing e-mails to:

spoof@ebay.co.uk
spoof@paypal.com

Apparently, spoof@ebay.com does not accept spoof e-mails.

Never been asked to send the headers.
Always get a reply that the e-mails I send are NOT from
the respective companies.

You said you sent as a FORWARD, Maybe their system "Burped". That is how I send to eBay and PayPal and I have always gotten a reply.

Reporting Spoof emails is as easy as 1-2-3.
If you have any doubt whether an email is really from eBay, here's how to report it:
1. Forward the message to spoof@ebay.com.
2. Don't alter the subject line or forward the message as an attachment - doing so prevents us from investigating it further.
3. Once you have forwarded the email, you can then delete it from your email account.

Somewhere in your email options, you should have the option to show Full Headers, but "phishing" emails should be deleted without opening. Forwarding them to Ebay or whoever will do little or no good anyway. They look at it as your problem - not theirs.

Thankyou folks, I think maybe my problem is in the headers, now I see where can get these to add...I thought I had all the message as the foreward. ..and I don't always get that headers message back, I googled to Headers in Out Look Express and got my answer. I have to agree, however they must just ignore it anyway and do this to keep people happy and they are trying get me to take a Ebay ToolBar--no way. Appreciate your telling me there was a headers utility in there. In Outlook it is different than Yahoo..its there. Glad I asked.

I used to send my ebay phishing e-mails to ebay.com, but was told that ebay.co.uk dealt with all these type of e-mails.

I just have comment again about this little adventure..I checked the headers part and see what it says, probaly a proxy address and something that cannot be located..or other wise these would have been stopped long ago..and thought about all the times I sent em back, and how they going to stop it etc and about the comment on here about the problem is mine and not ebays--and my conclusion is--put Ebay on the blocker list and forget it. IF I am dealing with them, which is not often--I can keep track through MY EBAY and thats what my delete button is for--if any sneak through--it just another piece of spam. Thanks folks...am no longer going be concerned!!

Although you didn't say which email client you used, go into the options area & look for the way to add FULL HEADERS to the email. it'll make them longer, but its in the headers where the trail is :atpc:
