duplicate pics in Picasa2

When I upload images from my Panasonic FZ5 into Picasa2, I get duplicates.
For instance if I take four pictures and upload them, I end up with eight images in Picasa.
I've searched Picasa web site for help on this without finding an answer.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop this?

I have no idea. But I opened my Picasa 2 and it wanted to install an Update. I selected Later. Then I searched My Pictures Folder and it only Displays Single Pictures.

Check the options............2nd one,checks for duplicates!
