a little faster shutter would freeze those wings, if you want. 1/800 to 1/1000 sec? and try some flash, the birds don't care.

Great shots!

I say one by my flowers the other day but it was gone before I could even get out the door with the camera....oh well, maybe next year.

Thanks for the info Dave, I will give it a try. I have more trouble with getting the birds in focus than anything.

I know that feeling! Are you using a tripod?

Hi all, Thanks for all the nice comments.
Dave, yes I do use a tripod, I am going out tomorrow morning to a place that the lady told me she has 10 hummingbirds coming in every morning. I will try that faster speed and also turn the flash on. Again thanks, I need all the help I can get. LOL

Marti, HI, I like your pup pics, that's gonna be a good dog!

Nana, I'm glad it worked for you. We'd love to see a shot or 2.

Josk, I had a lot of trouble getting the little guys in focus, so I would set up my auto focus area way to one side (on the feeder), then the bird(s) would also be in focus (provided they are on the same focal plane). This worked as long as I had only one feeder out at the time. When I had more than one out, of course, they always went to the other one. Good Luck!
