My beautiful Ragdoll has blue eyes and when I take a head-on picture, the eyes come out white..software does not allow editing..will only edit red eyes.
What am I doing wrong...have Sony Cyber-Shot Ditigal. Thanks.

You are not doing anything wrong!..........I have taken pics of our cat and his eyes come out green!
Cats eyes are different to ours so dont show up as red.
I get around it by using the clone tool in Photoshop Elements and cloning the correct colour from another part of the picture.

Yep, I have the same problem when trying to get photos of our cats....makes them look like aliens  Try using a flash setting for red-eye or fill rather than auto...better yet is to use no flash at all which means a very well lite room or an outdoor shot. I also have another family member stand behind me who tries to get the cat to look slightly up or to the side rather than straight at the camera. My cats don't care for the camera flash and usually will only allow me to snap a few photos before they've had enough & take off, so trying to get it right the 1st time can be tricky. If I'm not staging the shot and snap a photo of them doing something cute I often end up with glowie eyeballs but have managed to save some photos using one of my photo editing programs. I either us a paint or tint tool with the transparency set high and very gradually fill in to change the color. I use this method with red-eye in human photos as I don't care for any red-eye removal tool that I've tried yet & I've tried alot of them. This method of course takes much longer but I think it gives a more natural look to the eyes.

You can open your photo with Paint, magnify it, then use the colouring tools in there to redo the eye colour. Hope this helps, Ace.

don't forget to "save as" with a new name.... not replace the original, just in case.. :)

Maybe someone knowledgable could answer this question for me....

Does an external flash help with red-eye and if so would it also help with pet-eye?

A quick answer, Yes. But it will depend on how far away from the Camera it is.

Here is an example of 'red eye' removal using the clone tool in Photoshop Elements.
I 'cloned' the correct eye colour from Tigger's reflection in the mirror.

My pictures are hosted at Photobucket and then linked to here.
You can also attach your pics to a post.
When you are creating your post, scroll down a bit and you will see 'Manage attachments'
Click on this button and then browse to your pic and attach it.
Your pics must be 100KB or smaller, so if they are bigger than that you will have to resize them.
I use Powertoys resizer to do this.
Go here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx and look down the right hand side and you will see Image Resizer.exe.
Download and install this and then all you have to do is right click on any picture and you will see options to resize.
Once you have resized, you can attach your pics here.
