by Louis Armstrong. I want to use it as the "sound effect" when I start my computer. I can find .wav files of the song in instrumental, by other people, and I even find the original on the NASA site when they used it as a wake-up call for astronauts, but everytime I try to play or download from the NASA site, my computer freezes up. I found another Armstrong version on a site, but I get an error message about halfway through that one. Any help would really be appreciated.

I have this track in both mp3 (2.5MB) and in wav (25.5MB)

I can send the mp3 to you in a PM but the wav might be a bit big!

I used SuperC to convert from mp3 to wav, so that could be an option for you.

If you only want a clip, I could send you just enough of the track for you to use as you want.

Lots of sites have that song and you can convert it to wav format with a number of free programs or do it at http://media-convert.com/ Here's a link I copied from audio search at dogpile...

Thank you for the quick reply! Why couldn't I find this when I did a search?

I am trying to load this up, but again my Windows Media Player seems to be freezing up. I don't seem to have any trouble with other .wav files, but this one is proving to be frustrating!! Maybe I'm just not giving it enough time. I'm on a slow dial up and have 256K running on my computer with WinXP. I'll keep you posted. Again, thank you!!

Thank you for sending this link. It worked great. I have not used a conversion program for MP3 files before, but might have to try it!

I don't have a program to convert MP3s to wav. I will have to look into getting one, I guess. The offer of the clip is so nice, but once the song gets started, I just have to hear the whole thing!!

Phil -- I tried this again, and it loaded up just fine, and now it's set as my "start up sound". Can't thank you enough!! Have a wonderful day!
