I have DL'D old Slides and now find problems editing. Some of the Slides are taken in 1958 and have become faded, now I need to darken them.
As I resize these pix they get a little fuzzy. Anyone receommend a good free
photo manipulating program? : :)

Emory when you say downloaded where did you down load them from or did you scan them and if so you may need to change some settings when scanning them .

Slides should not be fuzzy if the original was not fuzzy. If the original pictures were in focus you should be able to blow them up to quite large sizes. What I do with slides is to use my camera to photograph them. I use a home made slide holder that fits on the camera and use the closeup (macro) mode. It is ten times faster than using a scanner and also gives better results. Make the holder from cardboard and scotch tape. Point the camera to a grey sky and click away. Any pictures that need editing can be done using Irfanview or XNview both free programs you can download from the Internet.

Don't you think the answer might be in your own question?

Since I don't have capability to DL the Slides, I had Sam"s Club transfer the Slides to a CD, then DL unto Computer. Now I am trying to edit these images and am having success in adjusting color, B/W, crop, etc.

Did it make a good clear transfer? Hope you get it done, old pictures are a treasure. Good luck.

Yes, transfers acceptable. Family pictures dating back to 1957 are Treasures being added to album, actually some of the pictures were not thought to exist.
