Not familar with the program but it could come in handy for many :)

I can do that with my MS Digital Image Pro 9 with the resize photo feature. As I increase the size of the file the resolution also increases...I don't just get a large but blurry pic. I can also lock the size of the photo and just increase the resolution...handy at times. If I have a photo that I will be seriously cropping I will 1st resize my photo larger so that when I'm done cropping I have a photo that's close to the original file size & resolution. If it's smaller than the original & I want the file larger I just re-size again.

With a feature like this in photo editing programs I wonder why camera companies continue to cram more mega pixels into cameras with tiny censors which in turn causes other photo quality issues? It would seem that more isn't always better yet the mega pixel war continues.

Hello, there, I PRESUME THAT YOU HAVE ''ACTIVATED '' within the TIME FRAME ?
I could NOT find any HELP files, within the program, but all you have to do is to SLIDE the ZOOM control to what ever size you desire, and it does it automatically .http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n182/RomeoRob/WheretoZoom.jpg
ALSO, I have found this information re it, for you, OK ?

Why this service?
You can notice for yourself that generally images that do not fit the screen and need traditional enlarging are not that popular as desktop wallpapers. This factor is independent of the original image quality/beauty. It happens because by enlarging an image in Photoshop or other more specialized tools the image looses clarity (get's blurry). Reshading an image does better, it keeps it sharp and clear. Also users might like to select only a portion of an image for their wallpaper, like a face or an object. The tools needed for this kind of work (crop, strech, and resize) are all available at reshade.com. Finally, you get more exposure for your pictures and your site by making your image public on reshade.com.

Why create such an algorithm?
The reshade algorithm has been specifically designed to maintain as much quality as possible in a resized image, and if not, create new details. The best results (no visible degradation of the image, in many cases improvements) are obtained for zoom factors of maximum 300%. The algorithm can be used easily for greater zoom but some artistic like effects will be noticed by the trained eye. This is not a bad thing, the images look pleasing even so, but the indended use when creating this algorithm was in the specified range.

Why only the resolutions on the site?
The resizing process takes time, so caching is needed. Fixed resolutions make this possible.

How well does it work for upsizing and printing?
The printed images look even better than on the screen. Reshading creates small textures and clear edges maintaining the original image overview. But, then again currently reshading is offered only at screen sizes, at a maximum of 1900x1200 pixels.

The reshading looks sharper on some pictures than on others, why is that?
The adaptive sharpening part of the algorithm is not fully developed yet. If you would like to have a manual control for it, let me know. For now you can choose between the normal version of reshading or "Sharper" on the details page of each picture.

Why not use Photoshop?
It's pretty expensive to buy Photoshop. If you already have it installed though you could try to resize the picture using bicubic interpolation, and maybe, if you know how, try to sharpen the image with all the available tools (smart sharpen / unsharp mask work best). But, you won't get even close to what reshading can do. Trust me, I tried this first before creating the reshade algorithm, and I wouldn't be writing this if it were otherwise. If you can find a better way, please mail at reshader@gmail.com and I'll post it on reshade.com.

Why not use other resizers, there are plenty online?
Well, there might be plenty but none that I know of use a better algorithm than bicubic (which also is implemented in Photoshop) or close derivatives.

What other uses are there for reshade.com?
Reshade.com also offers cropping for the posted pictures. This means that you can test the zooming ability even more, and on larger images. Because of processing time concerns the maximum zoom factor is about 300%.

Who should benefit from reshade.com?
If you have small, maybe older, pictures that you would like to enlarge, or create desktop backgrounds of, reshading can be very useful for you. Also you can use reshading when you want to crop a portion of a photo, zoom in on a face maybe or some other feature. If you made a picture with a lower megapixel camera or a cell-phone and want to enlarge it, reshading it would be best. You can also create avatars with reshade.com. For this you just need cropping and resizing. Select a small size like 100x100 for the perfect avatar. Reshade.com is also a place to show your pictures to the world, and get visits to your site at the same time. Site owners that post their pictures on reshade.com might like the idea of getting more visitors from their link posted on every page with their pictures.

What do your terms of service say about copyright on the works posted?
Reshade.com does not assume ownership of the works. The author allows reshade.com to resize his pictures, that's all. The resized pictures are still copyrighted to their author, so nobody can use the resizes for any purposes not meant by the author. For example, this means that if an image has a Creative Commons Licence on it, this is transmitted to the resized image.

Can I submit pictures that are not mine?
You can submit any picture as long as you have been permitted by the author/owner to do this for the purpose of posting it on reshade.com. Please read the Terms of Service for more information. If you are not sure about a picture's copyright status it's better to not submit it. Pictures from magazines, commercial sites are usually copyrighted to their respective owners.

Why should I make an image public, if I can do resizes keeping it private?
The image you make public will have a link back to your site so that visitors may admire more of your pictures. If anybody else submits any of the pictures on your site to reshade.com they will be redirected to your already submitted pictures, and you are properly given credit for your artwork.

Why not just strech the image from my computer (when I select it as a wallpaper)?
When stretching an image in windows for example you get jagged edges, with reshading this is not the case.

I activated Reshade, after DL I can't find it on my computer. Darn, isn't that something? It's not listed in the Programs listing. After doing Windows Search
(little dog) I found it listed, but I don't know how to bring it back and move it to where I can get to it?

I just went to ''START '' and then '' ALL PROGRAMS '', and when I found it , did what I have in my title
If it is in '' PROGRAM FILES '' ( or where ever you have found it ) you should be able to do likewise ?

Rob, I located Reshade in All Programs, thanks .

The other problem I have: My Programs Window is full to the extent that I can't click unto some of the programs. Is there a way to either shrink or combine some of the programs to reduce the size of the screen?

YES!!, there is away, but I have forgotten, you right click on ''START '', and I can NOT remember the rest, something to do with ''SCROLL '' if you contact ''SHARBER60 '' '' she will tell you how, OK ?, Best of Luck, Jim R.

I think I remember now ?
'' right click '' on an empty space in the taskbar , then ''PROPERTIES '' then click on ''Start Menu '' then ''Customize '' then ''ADVANCED then put a CHECK MARK ( TICK ) in '' SCROLL PROGRAMS '', see ATTACHMENT, OK ?
