Recycle bin ?

I just recently got a mac laptop and I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to empty the recycle bin?? I know I can drag to the recycle bin what I want to get rid of but how do I completely empty once I get it in there. This is all new to me as I have only used windows computers. Thanks for any help.
