Not sure what to do ! Can I just install over older version, or should I delete it first?

My advise is to uninstall. Although it will install over the top of the old version it leaves the old shortcuts in the Start\Programs\Irfanview folder. I notice when this version is installed that this folder no longer exist. I recommend if you do uninstall that you download the Plugins and install them as well at the same time.

I agree with RB, as I usually uninstall and start fresh, but in other forums, some people have had success installing over-the-top.

Harley, that link does work in my Opera 7.11...I wrote this from that browser too. :D

The old one works just fine for me and has virtually every time given me what I wanted. No reason for me to mess over a good thing... no reason at all. So you young'uns download this newfangled version and tell me how it's better than what I have.

Crockett and all

I sorta agree with Houston on this one. I used to have too many "d'oh" moments when I had installed the new, improved version of a trusty program and found that the new version was not so improved after all.

Now, I save all of the install programs of software that I download. If the new version is a dud, I can drop back 15 and punt.

A hint, though.... The file names of many installer programs give you NO HINT of what program they install. Re-name the cryptic ones before you tuck them away on a CD or on your HD.

I do that also....I rename it right away with the product and version # in a folder called Downloads
