This is indeed, a great new forum, especially for those of us who are somewhat challenged as far as digital photography is concerned.
I can see that I, for one, am going to get a lot of help here. Does any one else have Photo Impact? My version is old and I am thinking king of getting either PSP 8 or Photoshop Elements. I took a course in Adobe Photoshop, but it was much too complicated (and expensive) for me.

Elly, Yes, this is a great idea, give him/her a prize:D :D
I.m a photo fan, no expert and I may get one or two good ones each year but with all our friends we will all learn and hopefully do better.:)

I think this is a great idea. I just ordered the photo impact7 from ws, also have adobe and picture it, ulead and probably more, lol. Use irfanview the most. Did have a small one I loved before pc crashed and can't for the life of me recall its name to get it back. I love my digital camera but can't figure out how to change any of the settings, so far just use it as it was when I bought it. Takes terrific pix, even better than my pro camera that is broken. Thanks for this forum Steve.

Thanks everybody,
Isaaccreek I am seriously thinking about getting PSP8 as soon as I get more memory. It requires at least 128MB and I only have 96 right now!
WOW!!!! That is awesome!!!!!!!!! Most of my photo work is pics that I do things with, frame, enhance, etc. That pic, rob, is real photography!

This looks like a good forum and I have both PSP 7 and PSP 8 as well as Adobe Photoshop 6.0 along with several lesser programs and find that the PSP ones are the easiest to make your way around in and I find that I can do just about anything with the two of those that I can do in Adobe with less headaches in doing so. PSP is the ultimate..so many neat plugins with filters...rob...another awesome pic!!!
Here's oneof our little Booboo(a dog, not a kid....LOL)

Not sure if there is a difference or not. Adobe Photoshop is a complete photo imaging program that takes an awful lot of work and time to get to understand how it works as it is very complex but most of the professional photographers use it but now that Paint Shop Pro has come out with version 8 a lot of them that I know personally are switiching over as it is much easier to use and you can do most of the same things with it.
Hewitt Packard has a lot of online free lessons in using Adobe Photoshop that they offer from time to time which are really helpful in understanding and using the program. I took this course last year and can not believe how much I learned from it. the online help is also great and you do not have to use HP products to get any of their online courses.
As to me showing someone how to use it that would be almost impossible to do on here as like I said it is very complex. I can look and see if I know where I put the disc with the lessons on that I saved and if they are good and I find them I can make copies and snail mail to anyone that wants them.
If you want an easy to use program that has the basics Irfanview which is free is great and there are filters that you can use with that. Ulead Photo express is another easy one and cheap to buy as is Microsoft Picture It Publishing. Personally I think that buying PSP8 is worth the money and you can also find it for free from Kazaa Lite. Sandy
