this is Kemah who is a feral cat that I got from the local shelter after my vet called to ask if I would take her as they had already spayed her and then found out that she is leukemia postive which as most cat lovers know is fatal and very easily spread so most of them are put down right away. Since I already had another cat with it (who I just lost two weeks ago after 13 years) I said yes and she is nice but being feral is still afraid to be touched although she will spend hours rubbing on my legs when I am here on the computer and she does not let me out of her sight so can only hope that with time she will come to trust me. Kona, what do you mean by feral? This cat looks exactly like my sisters, who by the way got hers at a shelter also. His name is Popcorn, and sorry I don't have any pics of him. He is something else. I had two Manx cats who got lukemia ( they were from the same mother, different litters). Might sound funny, but what did help for a bit was feeding them brunswiegar (liver wurst). Seemed to build them up a bit. Quit with the cats for awhile. I have a dog, that would not be a bit happy. One of these days.
Roy, Barkley looks great now. Great Job. He also looks quite the ham and spoiled? I think NOT !
Muzz, the pugs are simply the cutest. Gotta Love em'

Sandy the kitty is beautiful!! Keep up the good work and she'll come to trust you in time. I'm amazed that she even comes near you, most feral cats are so wild.

A feral cat is one that is born in the wild from either other feral cats or where someone has left a cat behind and it turns wild. They are most generally very afraid of humans and will not come near one at all.
Kemah is great other than she has done a number on my leather furniture so when I can manage to catch her which until now has not been often I wil have to have her declawed as much as I hate to do it but can not have all of my furniture ruined. I should have taken her the one time that I did manage to catch her but I did not notice the furniture at that time so I just trimmed her nails and gave her a good brushing. It is so odd that if you do catch her she is fine with being held until you put her down and yes I think that with time she will come to me or at least I hope so. I have had her since May of last year.
Prior to that I had another cat that died from the leukemia and can only take in cats that already have it which is fine as I can give them a good home until such a time comes that they get too sick to go on. I will not let any animal suffer just so that I can hang on to them for a while longer. I still miss my Jill and my Hannah but know that they are no longer suffering at all. Sandy

I'm enjoying the posts as much as the pictures, which are wonderful! Here's one of Tess watching the bathtub fill. She's bad about the toilet flushing too & practically knocks you over getting to it.
Love it!! Does she like a bath? Here's one of Goliath...he has a flushing fetish, loves to watch the water go round and round:)

Can't help myself, I have to post too. First are my tiels. Actually my daughters, but gramma gets to feed them and clean their cage. Nugget (Chicken Nugget) is the gray one. He about a year old now. The pic was when he was about 4 mos old. His head is white now. He is the clown. He wolf whistles when he wants my daughter or I. He does another different tune for my son. And for my husband, he sings the andy griffith song while he dances back and forth on his perch. Penelope is the yellow one. She is kinda shy and was one yr old when we got her. Not alot of human contact, but she is comming around and even wolf whistles now too. Haven't tried teaching them to talk. Someone said not to whistle if you want that, but we forget and thats ok, they don't need to talk. Their so special.

Now for HoneyBear. She is part Chow, and I think Bear (LOL) we had a sheltie "Cody's Star Traveler" who was simply my baby. Went everywhere with me. He got out one night, and was gone. I posted ads in all the papers, called breeders, humane society's dog catcher. You name it , I did it. Every time there was a siting, away I would go. After about 4 weeks, I was beginning to give up hope. Well, my husband would show his pic to everyone, and a guy said, I had a chow that just had puppies. you can have one. Well, my hubby comes home and says we can go look at the puppies. That night after 7 hot summer weeks, I hear a dog bark and my daughter and I both Holler "CODY". I had the nicest silk pj on and when I opened the door, in he flies. and I mean Fly. Right into my arms. I cried like a baby. And ohhhhhh did he stink. You see he was raised with a skunk. You get the picture, he must have thought every skunk was Peppi La Pue. Oh I didn't even care, my baby was home. I say to my hubby, we don't need to look at those other puppies, Cody is home. He says welllllllll lets just look. I knew then that we would be bringing home another baby. She didn't have her dew claws off so her feet looked like bears feet. She was sooo cute. Now she is a big moose and still thinks she is a little baby. She just about smothers you when she wants on your lap. But enough of my chatter. ( you all know me for that) here is my baby girl !

Me again. He He That pic doesn't really do her (honeybear) justice. With her face pulled forward she has the look of a chow, and she has the biggest brown round eyes that see right to your soul. Now we have a new little brat. And I must say, thats what he is. We even gave him away ( for 4 weeks) he chewed everything. I was beginning to go shoeless. My daughter is visiting the people one day and over hears the man say he's going to shoot the dog cause he chews everything. Well, you guessed it, I said bring him home NOW. He is now 3 yrs old. and doesn't chew. He loves us to pieces. He will get excited and start that high screaching and just can't stop. Its so funny. We have to say, I know your excited and calm him down. His name is Lucky. because he's lucky I let him stay here. Honeybear is so laid back (considering her chow genes) and he will attack even a doberman. He just loves his honeybear. I now give you my Lucky Dog !
