I use intel pro cam, http://www.intel.com/pccamera/provideo/sysreq.htm it has a place to plug Audio/Video Cable in back, it makes avi movie from vhs recorder,
then I use Roxio easy cd creator 5 VideoImpression to turn into mpg's vcd, and then video CD to record vcd onto cdr's.

Thanks for cross referencing this thread Janice. I am really interested in this. I was thinking of getting my 8mm put onto vhs tapes. I don't know if it was a special or not, but about a month ago, WallMart advertized putting vhs tapes onto dvd's for only 19.95. extra copies were around 9.00. I am planning on transfering mine that way. My 8 mm are really old, and I think its going to be costly, but they are precious and have folks that are long gone now before video cameras came into existance. They will even put sound in for you. We did alot of ocean 8mm's so I though the Beach Boys would be great.

Wow! Thanks for posting that, John. That is the thing we bought at a yard sale for $2. We knew it was a treasure at that price. We would never have been able to get it otherwise. Living at the bottom of the social structure in a 'throw away' society is occasionaly rewarding. :D

We need a bumper stucker that says, "This truck stops for 'Yard Sales.'
