Disable Active Scripting.
Use another product.

And you all thought that I sounded like a broken record everytime I suggested this..........:)

I never thought you sounded like a broken record, Harley.
Seems most everyone is scared to try anything new, like Mozilla or Firebird. They will one day wish they had, I fear.
I always disable javascript and java when visiting unfamiliar websites, so easy to do "on the fly" with Moz and FB, prefbar with Moz and prefbuttons with FB. Can't do it so easy with the security hole that is IE.

How do you activate the " prefbuttons with FB" for java Elwood?

View>toolbars>customize, then drag the prefbuttons (check boxes) wherever you want them to appear on the toolbar(s).
They may not display correctly till you close the customize window (done) and restart Firebird.

Thanks Elwood. But if there's a "web features" button, or "java enable/disable" button, I don't see it. Normally I go to tools, options, web features to enable java.

Hal,
Check out the top toolbar of my browser (see attached), there you will see how I have mine configured. Also look at my customize drop down menu and see the other prefbuttons (there are some other things showing that you may not have, having to do with Tabbrowser Extensions).

Thanks again, but how did you get the check boxes for java script up on the tool bar. I see no options for that when going to view, toolbar , customize.

Do you have the prefbuttons extension installed?
That is probably the problem, be right back with a link (will add to this post shortly).

Here you go:
http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/clav/#prefbuttons
Close and restart Firebird for prefbuttons to appear in the customize menu.

One more Q. What's the diff between "Javascript" and "javascript (this tab")?
Elwood

That allows you to allow/disallow javascript for individual tabs. That way one tab can have it enabled and another disabled. The plain "javascript" applies to all tabs or browser windows.

Why when I open Firebird, is the "javascript (this tab)" box automatically checked.

Not sure, Hal.
Do you have javascript enabled through tools>options? I haven't really played around with this particular pref.
Do you have Tabbrowser Extensions installed? There may be an option within TBE's options that over-rides that pref. You may need to play around with it to figure it out.
Firebird is still very much in beta (until 1.0) so certain things may act a little weird sometimes. Still a great browser though.

Thanks again; I checked in tools, options and JavaScript is not enabled. It's no big deal; like you said it's still beta and a good browser; I'll play around with it.
