this is the son of the great-grandparents and his wife.
this pic is only about 2x3''.
i scan it at 1200dpi and this is what i get.
the prob is that the original is on a cloth-paper and the scan picks that up. i've tried to scan and descreen to worse results .
any suggestions on how to get rid of all the horizontal lines?

migander,
that is great. what program did you use?
it looks like you got rid of most of the lines. how did you do it?

I used Microsoft Picture It! Publishing 2001.There is a dust removal in the program,i used the smallest setting.

Robarro,
Is it possible to turn your picture and scan? That may help with all those horizontal lines.
Migander,
That's a great looking job!

dave , that's a great idea and i'll try it.
the main reason there are lines is because the pic is on cloth.
i used the small dust brush on this twice and got rid of most of it.

dave,
as i said- great idea!!
scanned it sideways ,removed dust, adj. levels & contrast and now have something to work with.
Now, you know that Muzzy would have to play with this one...I took robs copy and added lighting with Photo Impact and framed it with PSP.

migander, i couldn't have done this with your and daves help.
unfortunately i'm probably going to run out of glossy print paper if i keep doing these. relatives are beating on the walls.
here's that same gentleman(my GF) at 4 and his brother at 2.
i'm working on them.

Oh your all so very talented. Now I have psp trial for about 50 more days. I can't seem to color the faces in right. Can someone tell me what the settings should be or even what their using? I was trying this with air brush. Much help needed. Is there a dusting tool on psp? if so where? thanks in advance

denine,
you would use the airbrush, choose your color, and adjust the opacity and the brush size of the color you are applying. i can't tell you more because i am not that familiar w/psp but that's how you do it with all that i am familiar with.
