I have been having a little trouble with trying to get my pictures on my computer. After I first installed everything, they connected just fine. Last night I went to put some on that I took and it wouldn't recognize the camera. It never showed up where it was supposed to and the camera just blinked till I turned it off. I went to uninstall this morning and there was an option to repair and I did that. It didn't work. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked great. I just tried it again and its not recognizing it again. This is a pain in the butt. I have the Kodak CX4310 camera and its connected by a USB connection. I have rebooted like the troubleshooting said I should, but its still a no go. A friend tried installing her software on my computer before and it wouldn't recognize hers either, but it NEVER did on hers, but mine is fine after a fresh install. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Bump!!!

I'm sorry, I just don't know.

Have you been to the manufacturer's web site to see if this is mentioned there at all? I know with my cheap-crappy-but-it-works-well-enough-for-me-scanner (that's the brand name), I found my answers at their web site.

Just a suggestion, I know nothing.

A friend had one at my house, once the software was installed. All we did was plug the wire into camera first then into usb port, wait a few seconds and look under My Computer, it should show up there, then just double click on camera icon, to open pictures.
It may have to be pluged into usb port with the pitch fork picture beside it.
Hope this helps.

Well, I got the software uninstalled and installed again and it worked. I don't even want to try it again now. :( I have 2 USB ports so I switched them thinking maybe that was the problem, but it didn't make any difference. :(
I have been to the website a few times. All I can find is the general directions in case it happens. ie making sure the camera is on, (duh) making sure the batteries are good, rebooting, etc, all of which I have double and triple checked. After its been installed for awhile its not showing up at all under my computer, just sitting here blinking away. After a fresh install it recognizes it right away.
Thanks again. I will keep looking. I may end up emailing tech support on it.

If they have general directions in case this happens, it might be a known issue like the freeze-ups were with my cheap-crappy-but-it-works-well-enough-for-me-scanner. Go ahead and email tech support and if you can't get things going quickly, take the camera back and get a refund. There are usually strict time limits for returns on things like this.

I wish I could help more.

Can you open your software? If so go to options, configure, Bauld Rate, set to the lowest rate, work up from there till your camera works.

Take care

Well, so far so good. I haven't messed with it in a few days and I tried it tonight and it kicked right in. Maybe it fixed itself? ;)

Hi Angel !,
I've had similar problems myself on occasion, I got around it by using a card reader I don't need to power up the camera, I just insert the memory card in the reader and plug that into either of the extended USB ports on the back of my keyboard, the reader appears as an extra drive in My Computer, I also find that the software that came with my HP Photosmart 850 also recognises the reader, so it's far more convenient all round. :)
