Do all digital cameras eat up batteries? I bought a docking station for my Kodak camera but somthing has happened to it and now it doesn't work but came with a battery pack that was to keep my camera charged all the time and I could transfer my pictures to the PC with it. Now I'm having to use the usb wire that came with the camera and it eats up batteries like crazy! I'm wondering about the other things you can buy, can't think of what they are called (media card reader?)that you can get to transfer the pictures from the media card. Do they use batteries or electric?

There are many different memory card readers on the market, I have a Zio for my Smart Media Card. They make them for every kind of card. You can find them at Best Buy - Circuit City - Office Depot - Amazon and many, many more places. My Zio cost less than $20, 2 years ago. They do not use batteries or electricity, they plug into your usb port and are powered by the computer. My Olympus C-3000Zoom camera took forever to upload pictures to the PC, the card reader uploads them almost instantly.

I'll back-up Benewah on the card reader. Much more convenient I wouldn't use anything else now. :D

It is my experience that they love batteries and will eat all they can. :D

My husband bought me rechargable batteries, they do a decent job.

Few things are as frustrating as seeing a great shot and finding that the camera battery is dead.
