I tried the first beta release and didn't like it because of some bugs, but this one is peaking my interest. :D
I'm going to move up.
Don't forget to donate if you like this product to help it stay free.
Spybot-S&D has long grown a full-time job for me and causes quite a lot of work for our volunteers. I'm working hard and it's great fun to do it. Of course all the infrastructure we use causes costs, and I've got to live on something, but at the same time I believe in free software. Therefore I decided to keep Spybot-S&D free and give you the freedom to decide if and how much it is worth to you.
If you can spare a few bucks, please donate to our cause. This is purely voluntarily though - if you do not donate, you won't get less support from us.

I did a clean install...I was using v1.2 and there was one file that it would not let me delete. It was a known bug and the file was called SDHelper.dll.
The only way I could get rid of it was by using this reg file:
http://spybot.eon.net.au/files/remove-spybotsd-settings.reg
Sandy...I read about the false claim here. (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,9480684~mode=flat)

If you click on my link in I.E. you will get a download File window. Save it to your computer than double click on the .reg file to execute it. When done, reboot and delete the folder.

You're welcome. :D
I recommend people move up to this version even though it is the beta stages and not yet final. It is better than v1.2

I turned off Norton, BoClean and SpyWareGuard when I installed mine. Then after the installation I turned them all back on and SPG caught the file immediately. It asked me if I wanted to delete it, I said ok, and it did.
You can download SpyWareGuard for free here (http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareguard.html)
Thanks,
Wendy

Sorry Crockett...
It caught that SDHelper.dll file....so I deleted it then I ran my
S & D scan. Everything appears to be okay without that file...

Slight problems here.
1. Seems to hang for a while on Winpup32 at 11477
2. Can't access IWon after immunize. Checked the restricted sites that it added, but couldn't find it...undid immunize and could get in.
Some good stuff
For the people that don't want to have their IE bar branded with their ISP, there's so longer any need to hack the registry. It's under tools IE tweaks.(where you will also find the lock homepage if you really want to use it)
Has a great start up section under tools. with explanations as good as pacs for each item and also things to look out for, such as slight name differences in file names.
Can still control hosts from Hosts File (you know how I love this)
If you haven't installed, just something I did. I copied my excludes and other settings from application data and my skins from the program, from the old program and added them in before I updated. It saved update time and setup time as it recognized all my previous settings.
