This is our Booboo, who we hand-raised from an hr old..here mama was a Peke and died of a bloodclot after the C-sec birthing Booboo. Her original name was Betsy but she looked so much like a little bear when she was tiny, we started calling her Booboo Bear and it stuck:) She was a yr old in Dec and is perpetually attached to her ball, till we put it up for a while each day.

This is Rowdy, I refer to him as Scrowdy. He is supposedly a beagle/Rottweiler mix. Although I think he may have a little pig in him as he grunts just like one. Most of his pics are of him sleeping on his back showing the world his "goods" wasnt sure y'all would appreciate the view.

This is the BEST thread I've ever browsed at World Start in five years! All of the pictures are just wonderful and have certainly put a smile back on my face.

I'm building a new website in dedication to my furry babies that are no longer with me and it's a very trying experience. I still have difficulty looking at their sweet pictures and trying to write something half-way intelligent to convey what wonderful friends they were. I work on the website for thirty minutes and cry for fifteen.

Thanks for sharing, gang!:) Here are my girls, Shadow the German Shepherd and Chasidy, the American Staffordshire Terrier. They are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for me to join them one day.

I know how you feel...I just lost my toy poodle in Jan. She was 16 yrs and 5 months old. She laid right beside my computer and I dearly miss her. Her name was Angel and she was an Angel.

Lailani

We've lost several dear furbabies and though not one of them is replaceable, we find that getting another one helps heal the hurt somewhat. We lost our dear collie mix, Luke, in Jan.....he had just turned 12 on NYEve...he was our protector and our friend. He just went to sleep under a tree where he loved to lay. He had been getting cripped with arthritis. We have 6 other dogs and they require alot of time and attention but it doesn't make us miss Lukie any less...
That redneck alarm system looks like our house!! Except 3 are pugs, and three are mixed.
PA...post the pic of Angel please so the guys can see how pretty she was.

Here's another pic of Boris. He's staying at a friend's kennel while he recuperates from leg surgery (he had a bad fall I think). He has to be quiet & the owners have children, so he can't be at home. Last weekend my friend was gone for the day so I went out to let all the dogs have a potty break & took lots of pics.
I'm loving everyone's pics on here! The litter of Beagles are adorable.

Hey there everybody,
Just wanted you to be aware that our favorite little red and
white basset hound left for the bridge late Wednesday night. It was her picture that I posted a page or two back... For six wonderful years, she brought joy to our family of hounds, us and many people in nursing homes.

We planted her on Good Friday and are beginning the slow process of healing... All five of the others got to sniff her one last time and know where she is planted. Josh (her best friend in life) has been lying on top her grave for most of two days so far... It will be hard for him, but he has lost many other old friends and seems to know how to deal with and get through the grief. He is our old man and must set a good example...

Thanks for sharing my grief.

I AM YOUR DOG Author Unknown

I am your dog, and I have a little something I'd like to whisper in your
ear. I know that you humans lead busy lives. Some have to work, some have
children to raise. It always seems like you are running here and there,
often much too fast, often never noticing the truly grand things in life.
Look down at me now, while you sit there at your computer. See the way my
dark brown eyes look at yours? They are slightly cloudy now. That comes
with age. The gray hairs are beginning to ring my soft muzzle.

You smile at me; I see love in your eyes. What do you see in mine? Do you
see a spirit? A soul inside, who loves you as no other could in the world?
A spirit that would forgive all trespasses of prior wrong doing for just a
simple moment of your time? That is all I ask. To slow down, if even for a
few minutes to be with me. So many times you have been saddened by the
words you read on that screen, of other of my kind, passing. Sometimes we
die young and oh so quickly, sometimes so suddenly it wrenches your heart
out of your throat. Sometimes, we age so slowly before your eyes that you
may not even seem to know until the very end, when we look at you with
grizzled muzzles and cataract clouded eyes. Still the love is always there,
even when we must take that long sleep, to run free in a distant land.

I may not be here tomorrow; I may not be here next week. Someday you will
shed the water from your eyes, that humans have when deep grief fills their
souls, and you will be angry at yourself that you did not have just "One
more day" with me. Because I love you so, your sorrow touches my spirit and
grieves me. We have NOW, together. So come, sit down here next to me on the
floor, and look deep into my eyes. What do you see? If you look hard and
deep enough we will talk, you and I, heart to heart. Come to me not as
"alpha" or as "trainer" or even "Mom or Dad," come to me as a living soul
and stroke my fur and let us look deep into one another's eyes, and talk.

I may tell you something about the fun of chasing a tennis ball, or I may
tell you something profound about myself, or even life in general. You
decided to have me in your life because you wanted a soul to share such
things with. Someone very different from you, and here I am. I am a dog,
but I am alive. I feel emotion, I feel physical senses, and I can revel in
the differences of our spirits and souls. I do not think of you as a "Dog
on two feet" - I know what you are. You are human, in all your quirkiness,
and I love you still.

Now, come sit with me, on the floor. Enter my world, and let time slow down
if only for 15 minutes. Look deep into my eyes, and whisper to my ears
Speak with your heart, with your joy and I will know your true self. We may
not have tomorrow, and life is oh so very short.

Love, (on behalf of canines everywhere)

This is a picture from last summer of my dog, Lily, and our, then, little kitty, Bucky. We had just rescued Bucky and had only had him for two days at that point. Lily is such a good girl - she let that ornery Bucky wrestle with her and she never once hurt him - she does keep him in line though ;)
