You can print Word documents without opening them on the screen. To do so:
Click on File on the menu bar
Click on Open...
Navigate to bring the file name into view
Click on the file name with the right mouse button
From the pop-up menu that appears, click on Print
Note: This technique does not provide a way to control printer options, such as which pages are printed, the number of copies
