Probably a stupid question, but, on the Start Up Desk Top, the usual areas are listed...Control Panel/My Computer/My Documents etc., which on My set-up are in "C" drive.

What I want to do is... 'replace ' My Pictures in "C" to be in "D" (thus I can attack from 'Start'.....the splinters are upsetting the ol' fingers!
Would be a distinct advantage to be able to do so.

Assistance please.
thanks.

Xp does not like people to mess around with its "MY whatever" defaults. Personally the "MY" designation is offensive. But XP refuses to allow it to be changed. It simply sets up a new empty "My" folder. You might be able to change this with a Regedit but that is beyond my capabilities.

So ignore the one in C: which you can simply hide if you do not want to use it. To hide it: RtClick anywhere on the TaskBar, Click > Properties > Start Menu > Customize > Advanced > Scroll to MyPictures > Mark DoNotDisplay

Then make a new folder with whatever name you prefer any place you prefer. In D: call it My Pictures if you want. Make a shortcut and drag it to your start menu. If you hover your mouse over the Start while holding the drag button Start will open, then drop it where ever you want it. A darkline will show up to indicate where it will be.
