Tests have also shown that women are able to see more colors than men and the reason being is they are looking for the various shades and hues
I have always wondered about color blindness. Does everything look like a black and white movie? Or is it a version of duotone, like greens and blacks?

[B]The test to the left is simpler.
The individual with normal color vision will see a 5 revealed in the dot pattern.
An individual with Red/Green (the most common) color blindness will see a 2 revealed in the dots[B]
What if you see a different number than that?

It helped while I ws in the military, I could see people and equiptment that was hidden by camo. If a person was in full camo, head to toe, and stood next to a tree, I saw the outline of the person, the camo did not breakup the figure.
BTW, I do not see in black & white. I can for the most part see a red, what I can not do is tell you different shades. Example would be if you had four cards, all with different shades of red, If I saw them one at a time, to me each one would be red, but if you put all four side by side, I would tell you they were all different and I could not tell you the true red from the different shades.
And yes, I know grass is green and the sky is blue, to me I know what my brain has assigned to them but even someone without sight knows those colors. (I always get asked that when someone finds out I'm color blind)

Oh, I had no idea. I don't understand what you mean about only seeing in a shade of red. I can't visualize what that is like. Colors control my moods, thanks for sharing.
