I have windows ME, and a program I purchased (check it suite) is telling me my temp directory (not temp internet directory) is getting too large, taking up too much space. When I go to accessories, scan disk, it does not show anything in the temp directory, however when I look in explorer, temp directory, there are many files, folders there. I do not want to delete any files that I might need. Any help out there?

In WINDOWS EXPLORER ,go to >WINDOWS>TEMP FOLDER and in the right hand box you can delete all in there[preferably done after a reboot]!

laurel, Temp Files, if you installed something it uses that folder to store, that's why you want to restart to make sure the download is finish up doing its thing.
To all who don't know, always restart after a downloading a program.

Try "EmptyTempFolders"
http://www.danish-shareware.dk/soft/emptemp/index.html
This is a relatively safe program which will let you save good cookies and empty all the rest of the junk without problems.
