When you hoover over a link, take a look at your status bar. Does it show the full path of the link, or does it just say "WorldStart"? If it just says World Start, that is a Friendly URL. If you would like to see the full path (http: //www.worldstart.com/forums/blah blah blah), then you can change the way this is displayed by doing the following:
Open IE and click on Tools | Internet Options | Advanced Tab and scroll down the list until you see Show Friendly URLs and UN-check it. Click Apply | OK and close your browser.
When you open your browser again, hoover over a link and you will see the full path in your status bar.
Best,
Dizzy :D

Thanks Dizzy,
That is weird I though it had to be checked to show them, you are right does show full address below with it unchecked. :D
Thanks again.

Hi Dizzy,
What OS does this apply to ?, I just tried it in XP Pro IE6, and the full path shows either way. C'est la vie

That seems to be the case with Windows 2000 and IE6 as well.

Hi RB,
Glad I'm not alone with this, I've just been experimenting as I realised I had the tool bars locked, but it made no difference.
The tool-bar lock doesn't apply in win 9xxx systems, I just checked on the win98se UD cruncher the tip works fine there.

JohnF, you are welcome as always. I prefer to see them myself. :D
Jaberwoc,
This should apply to your OS as I went hunting for this so that the full path would show on my XP machine. It worked perfectly for me. I also have Windows 98SE and it works on it as well.
Best to all,
Diz :D

The full path does show up but checking the use Friendly URL's does not have any impact on my Windows 2000 machine. It still shows the full path. In my case this is not a problem because I did not have it checked and want to see the full path.

That is very interesting. I'll have to keep that in mind for future reference. Thank you.

It may be a bug in my IE but since it is working okay otherwise and I don't want the feature anyway I'm going to leave well enough alone. :)

Hi Diz & RB,
Still the same here, makes no diff which way I tick it, One thought I haven't rebooted, is that needed for it to work, not a problem anyway, the full monte is fine for me.
I do like to check out these tips . :D

Hey Jab,
A reboot certainly wouldn't hurt anything. I am starting to wonder if this tip works at all and I've done it myself! LOL
