I just found this site http://www.processlibrary.com/
via BBR. I thought "Great now I will know what I can safely shut down. But..........they list scvhost.exe as a trojan. Right now I have 5 instances of scvhost.exe running. One as a local service two as network service and two as a system service. My point being......I'm not touchin it until I ask y'all. Is this really a trojan? AVG does not pick it up. If it is any advice on removal? Thanks y'all.

I'm definately confused now. This is the page where I got the info on the trojan
http://www.processlibrary.com/results/find.php?key=scvhost.exe

Process File: scvhost.exe
Process Name: W32/Agobot-S virus

For detailed process information get WinTasks 5 Pro

yet........I'm searching through the rest of the processes and type in the scvhost.exe in the search box and come up with this

Process File: svchost.exe
Process Name: Microsoft Service Host Process

Description: svchost.exe is a system process belonging to the Microsoft Windows Operating System which handles processes executed from DLLs. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.
For detailed process information get WinTasks 5 Pro

I'm thinking I dont need to do a thing about it. This is why I don't trust much on the net without investigating it. What about those that try to get rid of svchost without looking into it further?

Thanks Harley. I haven't been having any problems with the comp being sluggish or anything. I just thought I would see exactly what the processes were that were running but imagine my surprise when they said that svchost was a trojan. Fortunately I knew to ask here and look further into it before I started trying to get rid of it. Sheesh! Thanks again Harley.
