I'm looking to buy a digital camera and I'm on a budget.I know I'd like a 3 or 4 megapixel camera, but other than that I don't have a clue on which to gauge my choice.Oh yeah,my printer is Pictbridge equipped. What would be a good camera to buy for $200 or under?
Thanks very much for any recommendations. :)

situation as you as far as price goes and what we found was several cameras that were junk and a few serious, genuine attractive bargains. The 2 standouts were the Nikon CoolPix3200 and the Canon Powershot A75. I know everyone has their favorite brands but when the dust settled, the choice for the more experienced photographer that would use and appreciate more manual controls was the Canon. (options like swapping or using bigger lens kits)
The Nikon has lots of features, probly more than most people would ever use, but was still fully automatic. But it takes great photos! So it would be the choice for a novice or someone that didnt feel like worrying with all the bells and whistles, while still having a nice point and shoot camera.
If shooting video was high on your list, neither one of these would be acceptable, but for still images, you can get your money's worth with either one of these cameras.

Still images are all that I'm after at this point.I think I just saw that Nikon at a few different sites. That sounds like the one I need.I'm not looking for professional results, just something to take pictures of the kids. We're still using an ancient 35mm camera.I'm just ready to enter the 21st century.......LOL.

Thanks for the recommendations Dave. :)

dave's RIGHT.. the canon a75 is the answer.. best bang for the buck hands down.
it's a point and shoot and gives you the opportunity to grow. you can not go wrong w/it.

OH -- i forgot--- if you don't mind a cam that doesn't fit in your pocket, you definately need to ck out the minolta Z1. 10x zoom and around 200 bucks online.

I don't see anything listed for Optical Zoom, only Digital.

I don't see anything listed for Optical Zoom, only Digital.
So the others would be a better choice?
I'm asking because I don't know anything about cameras.

I would never get a Camera that only had Digital Zoom. Digital Zoom is just that, electronically done. Thus you really aren't Optically Zooming in on a Subject, only enlarging it Digitally. Clarity is Lost.
