I've started researching external CD-writers that can use a camera-chip/card as direct input (no computer needed). they claim : Plug in the chip, put in a CD, press the button, and pictures are on CD.

Can anyone help me in my choices? I'd like one for an extended vacation late this year, and would appreciate any comments...

This is the only one I found. Slimline PhotoStore (http://www.storagedepot.co.uk/products.asp?action=showproduct&id=137&q=&type=65)

"...dump your pictures to disc without a computer

that is so cool, I know someone that likes the dig. camera but doesn't have a computer, I didn't find any in the USA in my fast search. I'll be keeping my eyes open for more like this.

cpowell950 I hope you find what your looking for.
Thanks, learn something new everyday. :D
Good Luck

Looks handy if you travel a lot John, but somewhat pricey, cheaper to buy extra memory cards. I certainly haven't seen one before
