Ice Storm

Ice storm hit Indiana last night. Lots of ice everywhere. Power outages in different parts of town, not at my house so far...at least Monday before power is restored to some areas and that is the EARLIEST estimate. Here is a photo I took from my kitchen window.

I love it, not at all what I expected. I sure hope you're not near Greentown ... I have a sister there...but I think I've seen her DH on the net so apparently they still have power.

We are about 15-20 miles northeast of Greentown. Know it well. I know Kokomo, which is just 10 miles west of Greentown, has power out in places too, have not seen anything about Greentown having power out but I bet some do.

jholland, just got an e-mail from DS in Greentown and their power was out from Wed. afternoon until this morning, luckily they have a generator. This morning when they came home from town for more gas for the generator, the electric was back on.

By the way, we added 3+ inches of snow last night on top of our ice! 16,000 in OUR town alone still without power. They are saying it will be at least Monday, at the earliest when then hope to have 90% of those without power restored. Hope our neighborhood is not in that 10% still waiting. My side of the street has power, theirs does not. Have my two uncles, aunt, daughter and 2 grandkids here, not to mention 3 visiting dogs! Are we having fun yet? ;)
