Hi!! How are you? Could you please tell me how to make a Microsoft Word Document NOT a Read-Only File???? Thanks! :)

Right click on the document's icon|Properties|uncheck "Read Only"

Hi! I tried that, but it just keeps acting like it's busy and won't let me click on that or anything else in that section.

Hi Guest,
Maybe too many things are running in the background.Use the system configuration utility to shut off unnecessary programs.Then try what Alan suggested.

Hi! Thanks for your reply!!! :) I tried that but it didn't work. See the thing, is, Read Only isn't even checked, but when I go to save it says it's Read Only.

By any chance is this Document stored on a CDR and not the Hard Drive?

Actually, I do have the file saved on the D Drive, so no, it is not stored on the Hard Drive.

Maybe reinstalling Word from your disk would be a good
idea. Have had to do this once in a while too.

It has to be on hard drive to change it from read only, won't work still on the cd.
When you make a data cd that's the way it saves things and you can't change it.
