If you have a hard drive that is getting a full and want to delete those unneeded files out of the system you can. Here’s how.

Before deleting individual files check on the applications that you don’t use anymore and remove them. You can clear up a lot of space just by doing that. To do that just Click Start, Settings, Control Panel and double click Add/Remove programs (Check the list of programs there). If you still need room, go to Disk Cleanup. To find Disk Cleanup Click Start, Programs, Accessories and System Tools (Disk Cleanup will identify files you can remove) If you need more space go to Windows Explorer and click Tools, Find, Files or Folders, go to the Named: box. Enter *.tmp *.bak *.log *.--- *.old. All of these can normally be removed. Delete them to your Recycle Bin. Just to be on the safe side leave the files there for a while just in case you accidentally deleted the wrong files. If you do need them you can always restore them.
