Those are good pictures, I don`t live too far from there.
Must be good at fishing, as some come away empty handed.

I usually do too. We are just new to this river fishing. The ones we were catching were just little guys, most of the people fishing were after the BIG ones. I saw some huge salmon come out of there last year, but we didn't catch any. Maybe this year :) http://www.boomspeed.com/pjpkl/REOutfishingtalk.gif

Those are nice pictures. Brings back memories of when my Dad use to take all us kids to the Vedder Canal for fishing. I miss those days................ ;)

Wow! All you guy's know Chilliwack! It's the Vedder River taken on the Rotary trail. It was a cloudy day and I didn't get the mountains in the background but I think that the colours are better when it is overcast.

Stringbean, have you lived quite awhile in the Vedder/Sardis/Chilliwack area?
If so, back in the 50`s,60`s?
From this thread of Jan`s for Bridal Falls and mine about the monkeys by the
highway, back then.
Beautiful shot Jan..#2
When I was a kid..long..long..time ago, they used to have monkey cages
there also at the entrance on the highway.
Haven`t been out that way for many years, so guess it is good that you
reminded me, as Dad used to take us there quite often for drives and to the
Falls.

Sharon, Been here since 1955. Remember CHWK when there was just one set of light at five corners and Vedder Crossing was almost a foreign country. :)

We moved to Rosedale first from Vancouver when I was 4 in 1948.
Still remember The Strand used to be a Theatre, then a Roller rink,
Mac & Mac in Chilliwack etc. Used to watch TV at Gunthers on Wellington.
Sure a big change, my Dad was at the Base, Mechanical Engineers.
Well better make room for pictures.

Hi Sharon,
Please excuse my criticism (constructive I hope), check your scanner manual, you should be able to crop out all that black surround of your pic before you scan by dragging in the bounding lines, all that black is part of the picture you scanned and makes for very large file sizes. Hope this makes sense and helps also. ;)

That`s Ok I did that with an old Parallel Artec scanner many years ago when I still had an older PC. Had saved to a family site and now can`t locate the picture to redo on my newer HP scanner.
Was really just seeing if I could attach a picture and that was the oldest I could find for that post.
Thanks & will have to go through my photo albums to find the picture to do over again.

OK Sharon,
I understand now, I recognised the problem right away, a friend of mine used to send me massive pic files, until we realised he wasn't using his scanner as he should. ;) . Now you can post pics, how about some more, we welcome lots of input. :D

Beautiful scenery. My husband would be in his glory if he could view that every day. Enjoyed the pictures.
