barb and i do embroidery at home and have upgraded the machine and software. you ladies are going to love this. anyway what's really cool is this version can take a pic, a scan, clipart, just about ant image file and automatically generate an embroidery file of it. you d/l it to a floppy , stick it in the sewing machine and stitch it out.
here's barkley. he was my test subject. this is about the only time he sits still. you import your file.

then let the program do it's thing.

it will then give you a preview of the finished product.

it will also do a cross stitch pattern.

i haven't played with it enough to even begin to get a grasp of what else it will do. when i say WE do embroidery i mean i do the computer stuff and barb does the sewing. they had another program that i really liked buuuuut $1200 was not....
cool rob! My stepdaughter Melody loves to embroider and this would be great to make a portrait of Zane, our grandson who died in 96. where do I find the proggie? Or did I miss that?

wow! that sounds really good. I would love to have the program for my mother who loves to cross stitch. i thought about printing the picture onto graph paper, but I know it wouldn't be exact. Can you tell us where we can download that program please? Thanks in advance. :)

this does not make printable patterns that i know of. it only shows what the end sewing result should look like. the colors are off sometimes because you have to use a companies thread list. both of the examples i posted are around 40,000 stitches. for a look at the machine go here.

i can assure you we did not pay the MSRP. the software update was $300. once we have sewn one of these i'll scan and post it. if it's anythimg like our older version, then there will be a lot of tweaking w/the software as well as on the machine.

That sounds like a really fun toy! What do you make with the finished picture?

Thanks for the info. So I take it this is a machine and software. not just software that changes a picture into one that is ready for cross stitching.

the machine can do some very minor editing. it's mainly just for sewing. the software is separate. you can start from scratch , which i had to do with the previous version, or you can take a pic and let it ''punch'' it automatically. in auto it does not always work as well as i'd like. you've got to play with it and set it up. just learning right now.
