What O/S of Windows do you have on your computer?

Have you tried start- search- all files & folders and type in the search box

either jpeg or jpg & let it search?

It's running XP Home, on an HP. I have tried to use a wild card search and looked for hidden files. I think it might have been deleted. Do you know of a file recovery program that works with XP?

PC Inspector has been given good ratings also maybe run Picasa from Google

PC Inspector File Recovery

Depending on how your files were lost, it may be hard to recover them. This data recovery program recovers lost files and finds partitions automatically, even when the boot sector of your machine has become damaged or erased. Even when a file's header entry is no longer available, PC Inspector File Recovery can recover the file. The program lets you save recovered files on network drives. It recovers files with the original time and date stamp, so maybe it'll be like nothing ever happened. go to download site

Find and enjoy the pictures on your computer in seconds.
A free software download from Google.
Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organised by date with folder names you will recognize. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups. Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organised.

Picasa also makes advanced editing simple by putting one-click fixes and powerful effects at your fingertips. And Picasa makes it a snap to share your pictures – you can email, print photos home, make gift CDs, instantly share via Hello™, and even post pictures on your own blog.

Have you tried the Windows XP system restore option? It is located at start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore. Pick to restore your pc to a date that you know you had your pictures. Good luck and have a great night, Mark

If they have been deleted Restoration does a good job at recovery. Available here http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html
