don't know if you know it or not but Pentax has lowered the price of it's DL kit dslr by $200us.
it's now the lowest priced dslr on the market.
new price WITH the excellent kit lens is $599..WOW!!!
this is about the same you'd pay for a top line P&S with the added benefit of being able to switch lenses.. unbelievable..

i'm not quite sure how to take that.. no lol at the end..

anyway , craig , it's a great price even if you have a couple of other maker's lenses.. as long as the older pentax lenses are not screw mount,M42, you can meter them wide open and the ist will close down the aperture when you hit the button. you do have to close down the lens automatically so the ist can take an exposure reading unless the lens is newer than about 1984. after that the lenses were a little bit smarter.
