Eggs has great DOF.
ck the exif bruce, f22 and two diffused flashes, tripod, light box for more diffusion. and yes, i did set up the DOF. i even had f32 if i'd needed it.
this is something you,as i, are going to miss using a prosumer P&S. most do not go above f8. believe it or not this is a cheap sigma 28-80mm asf. i got off ebay for $18 delivered.. not a mark on it..

Robarro, that was quick. Those are very nice pictures. I especially like the one you just 'threw in' of the fly. I have a question that I will post in a separate thread. We won't be here the rest of the day- going to the new aquarium here in Atlanta. I'm going to try to make some decent pictures.

Wonder if it will work with TIFF? Three of my cameras do TIFF but not RAW and it's something I have not used much at all so far.

Photo programs I have, PSP9, Corel Photo Suite 3 (if I can find it) and Corel Photo Suite 7, MS Digital Image Suite 9 & 2006 but gave Abdoe Element 2 and 3 away. So guess I'm set with what I have already just need to work them a little (lot) more.
As far a getting a new camera, I can't afford it right now at least that is what I keep telling myself. Problem is the guy who sits next to me here at work his wife is a manager at .... you guess it Konika Minltoa. So we trying to see if she can get me one at a (big) discount, other wise I will have to wait until the new models come on the market.

His wife works for the copy machine division so I don't think they would have any cameras in stock. What you think I had not already thought of doing something like that, I know where I come from.
BTW you or somebody on the forum need a Canon flash, perfect condition but only works on Canon EOS flim cameras?
robarro
02-23-2006, 06:58 PM
i don't. i've got 2 dedicated pentax flashes. i sure would like the sigma 500 super tho. then i could flash sync to 1/4000 instead of 1/180. 1/180 is getting a little hard to handhold for these parkison hands. it's tough to look at stuff i shot in the latter 70's blown up to 8x10 at 1/4sec handheld and sharp as a tack..

Roy,
Correct me if I wrong but if a flash has a speed of 40,000 of a second and the image being shot requires the light for exposure, then are you not then shooting at 40,000 of a second shutter speed. In other words black doesn't blur. At least that the way I remember it working in my flim days, set the camera a 60th of a second and the flash froze everything.
Hey 13 hours at work I'm going home, maybe I see you on here later tonight.
Bye for now, its been fun.

craig,
you're correct but durations have come down a lot. my 4000ftz is about 1/500-1000 which is still fast but usually i'm only using the flash as fill light at auto TTL which means i'm still shooting at 1/180 with the flash helping out. yes i've shot things in a controlled setting where the shutter in on B and all you do is fire the flash from a different place for the effect but it is a PITA..

The abode is the Palace of Versailles, near Paris, and your only looking at half of it in that shot, it's ginormous. ;)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v397/davew98/andP1Medium.jpg
Light! Unedited, unenhanced, except for cropping. God's handiwork!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v397/davew98/51sharperLarge.jpg
Abodes! It's bound to be home to several animals.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v397/davew98/BarnAndAngel007Large.jpg
Black and White! Size is equal to a 3 or 4 year old girl. A unique mailbox decoration. There's got to be a story here.

Jack, your daughter was/is a cutie. She looked like she was having lots of fun.
Betty, I really like your gif. That snowman could never be made down here. We rarely get enough snow for a snowball.
Dave, your pictures are wonderful. That barn is gorgeous. Is it yours?
