i'm very happy with 6megs on the istDs. late summer pentax will release a 10meg dslr. it'll take quite a bit to impress me that i need it.

just want to point out again that with the P&Ss you just don't need more than 5megs, 6 tops. after that the sensors get too cluttered.. megapixel mania!

I agree more meg pixels is not that important, I been making 12 x 18 inch prints from both a 3.1 and 5.0 meg pixel cameras with better grain quality than I ever got from 35mm flim.

I actually saw that link the other day.
Interesting - but I'm not hardcore-photo enough to justify that kind of money!
I've got a new HP camera and it works fine for what I need.

Good news if you're looking for a new camera though!

That's why there are some many choices of the market, you just have to find the one that fits you. Some people need a pro level camera and others are happy with a point and shoot camera. Then there are those who are happy picking on those who didn't buy a pro camera and wished maybe they had bought the pro level camera (no names given here :D ). It will be fun though to just see what is coming out on the market in March.
