I run windows 98 and want to back up my files. I don't see backup in my system tools or add/remove programs. Can I do this without buying software.

It might need to be installed. Goto Add/Remove and select the Windows Setup tab. Click on System Tools then Details. Backup is at the top of the display. You would need to add a check mark in the box if it does not have one. Ok out and then Apply. You may need Windows 98 install disk to install the feature.
