Anonymous Proxy protect your online privacy.
Proxify is a web-based anonymous proxy service which allows anyone to surf the Web privately and securely. Unlike other proxies, there is no software to install or complicated instructions to follow. Just enter a URL (website address) in the form above. Through Proxify, you can use websites but they cannot uniquely identify or track you. Proxify hides your IP address and our encrypted connection prevents monitoring of your network traffic. Once using Proxify, you can surf normally and forget that it is there, protecting you.

LOL :)
I've always wondered why someone would need to stop web sites from tracking you.
So what if a site knows your IP and from that your region, your browser and your Operating system.

Would the R.I.A.A. be able to trace you if you used this? razzel

All these supposed proxy sites do is mask your IP from sites you visit, but your ISP still knows it and if served a subpoena has to show it!
If you do a google search for proxy lists.......you'll find hundreds of IP addesses you can use to do the same thing as this site, without all the crap!

The point, exactly. Now, if you can connect to your ISP anonymously that would be something else.
As it happens, I connect to my dialup ISP with no logon or password (which, I am pretty sure, would allow my ISP to trace me back as far as my IP address -- but would not allow them to associate that IP address with me, specifically.) I am curious if my ISP (Metconnect) is unique in this regard.

They don't trace your IP address .........they assign you it ,whether it's a dynamic IP or not ,so they do know exactly who you are!

Yes, of course. But since I connect to my ISP anonymously (no login, no password) THEY don't know who I am -- specifically. I am just an anonymous user who was assigned a particular IP for a particular period of time. At least, that is how I have figured it.
As far as I remember, I have never identified myself to my ISP. There is no signup -- just put the access numbers into the DUN connection, ring them up, connect and go.

>>Do you pay them?<<
No.
And that is why I want to find out if this arrangement is unique. I have not heard of any other ISP that is free and does not involve a signup of any kind.

They are a little vague about this. The imply that the dialup ISP is a loss leader for their other "web solutions." Hmmmm. They have, in the past couple of months taken to redirecting some clicks to their website (apparently) -- which does ask for contributions (and which has caused dark mutterings on ISP related message boards.) It is easy enough to short circuit these redirects, though, via the HOSTS file (you can simply click through the error message) and I feel that IF these redirects suggest that the ISP itself is up to no good that never ACTUALLY connecting to the redirected site is protection enough.

There is, but you don't have to use it! When I originally found this ISP they gave you the option of signing up the usual way -- or, for those who knew how, just inputting their access numbers into the DUN connection. They no longer mention the latter option-- but it still works!

Yeah, I think that the redirect is a legit solicitation.
