check the connection to the back of the computer. if its connected tight, try another keyboard... turn off beforer connecting the other one.

This should have been posted in the PC Ask and Answer Questions Forum. It's not a Tip or a Trick it's a problem with the computer and or keyboard. Thanks.

Steve,

"turn off before connecting the other one"

That would a be correct statement if the keyboard were PS2 rather than USB. If this is a newer computer I seriously doubt the mouse and or keyboard are PS2. JMHO :) If the computer keyboard and mouse are PS2 than yes you would need to shut the computer down and power it off before changing them out. If as I suspect the keyboard and mouse are USB there is no need to shut down or power down the computer before switching them out. USB is hot swappable, so no need to be concerned about shutting down first.

well yea, if they have a usb keyboard. but just shutting down windows and restarting it really doesnt take long... i guess i didnt realize the important effect it could have on a computer with a usb keyboard. :D
