Have used IE 7 for about 2 weeks now no problems & really nice to use.

After trying & if you don`t like it, it can be removed from Add remove Programs,
need to have "show updates" checked at the top to show up.

I downloaded Beta 1 when it was first available and have continued with 2,3 and now RC1. Each one has gotten got better. I only have one issue now, and HP (software for my scanner) has promised a fix as soon as the final version is released. In the mean time I'm using a work around. :D :)

Like Riley I too have been using it and have been for several weeks and am happy with it, but I still use FireFox as my default browser as IMHO it is far safer and much faster than IE7

Riley Bailey...what kind of problems are you having? I have a HP all in one, had problems before when windows updated..don't need problems. I do believe this is the final version of IE 7. it was on my updates when I logged on today. I am sure I will be ok I look into things before I download anything..thanks

http://news.com.com/Windows+2000+users+to+miss+out+on+IE+7/2100-1032_3-5729544.html

Microsoft has drawn some criticism after confirming that it will not make the next version of Internet Explorer available to users of its Windows 2000 operating system.

In a blog posting at the end of last week, a Microsoft employee confirmed that the company would not be releasing IE 7 for Windows 2000, as this would involve a lot of work for an operating system that is in the later stages of its lifecycle.

"It should be no surprise that we do not plan on releasing IE 7 for Windows 2000. One reason is where we are in the Windows 2000 lifecycle. Another is that some of the security work in IE 7 relies on operating system functionality in XP SP2 that is non-trivial to port back to Windows 2000," according to the blog posting.

Although Windows 2000 will be supported until 2010, at the end of June of this year Microsoft will no longer accept requests for design changes or new features for the operating system.

A number of Microsoft blog readers were unhappy to learn that IE 7 would be unavailable on Windows 2000.

One reader, known as Garry, said it was contradictory for Microsoft to offer support for Windows 2000 until 2010, but not to offer its users an up-to-date browser.

The 'SCANJET Series" scanners have software that puts the "HP Director" icon on the desktop, this also can be found in All Programs. It is used to open the control panel for the scanner. It won't open the software so I use the buttons on the scanner itself.
It worked OK in Beta 1 and 2, it stopped working in Beta 3 and RC1. On the feedback forum for IE 7.0 others are having the same problem. Microsoft is aware of this problem but state that they wont fix it on this release because at this late date they are afraid they might "bugger" something else up. HP has promised a fix as soon as the final version is out. It is only a minor inconvenience having to use the buttons, and i don't use the scanner that much.

This is what the download site says for:
Internet Explorer 7 Release Candidate 1 for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)

I'm definitely not an I.E. fan but when I.E. 7 becomes final, I will be getting it right away. It is a big improvement over I.E.6.

Thanks Riley for the information. Using those buttons is not real hard. But I did want to know what I would run into before downloading. I gather I.E. 7 that this is the final download? I do have windows XP.
