My sister found this site through her insurance and we have used it for our mom's medications. The savings were great! If you use prescription drugs (especially on a regular basis) like for diabetes or other long term medical conditions, you should compare these prices. Here is the site: http://www.canadadrugs.com/default.asp Buying the medication through the Canada Drugs actually saved her a few hundred dollars every 3 months!

Thanks Linda. I have been looking for that site for months now since I heard it on the news. My dad could really use this, seniors
medical bills can get very expensive.

Jan, I got the toll free number for you. It's 1-866-444-DRUG. Why don't you give them a call and see what's going on? We may have to find you a good place here to give you a discount! LOL!!

I guess you have to be lucky. I checked on a half dozen items that we use and didn't find much saving-I admit we use a good discount pharmacy which in addition to good prices handles all paper work for us. Thanks for the good intention.

Linda, Thank you for the link, I have a friend thats got Asthma, and she uses Advair Diskus 250/50 -60 units, drugstore.com wants 125.00 for it,but Canada Drugs wants only 86.00. What a difference in price! Linda she doesn't know you ,but I'm sure she will say a Prayer for you! God Bless!

I was absolutely stunned when I compared prices at this website. I've always "assumed" that Walgreen's had the best, deep discounted prices on drugs but that sure makes me look stupid.

Walgreen's price for Lipitor 80mg/30 $ 105.89

Canda Drugs $ 70.48

Walgreen's Premarin .0625/30 $ 30.79

Canada Drugs 100 $ 23.46

Needless to say, when I go in for my checkup the 25th, I will be having my doctor fax my scrips to Canada Drugs.

Once again, Linda, I am in your debt. Thank you so very much. :)

But what about shipping and import duties. These are not specified in the price I think. Import duties might eat up any savings.

It doesn't Boilerman! And then again I guess it would depend on the beginning savings. Like what Rosie was pointing out - that is a tremendous savings. That sounds a lot like what our mom's savings had been and even with the shipping - she still is saving a few hundred dollars every 3 months! Another thing to think about is how many drug store trips you might take to get your prescriptions filled. This way they come right to your door so you save time and gas. :)

I use http://www.canadianmedsusa.com/ (different from the above) and their delivery charge is $10.00/delivery. A delivery could include 2 or 5 or 10 different prescriptions and it is still $10.00.

I'm glad to have another source to check out before I see my doctor. And the $10 s/h is cheap really. I believe it's the same at the one Linda recommended but don't quote me. My CRS sometimes overloads my brain. :D

Hey, gang, this is the site we use & we really save quite a bit even with the shipping charges. Also, I've spoken with them on the phone & they're very friendly & helpful. Anyway you can all check it out & comparison shop. Pepper

Hi Linda you are always so helpful....I just saw a program on the Canadian drugs that are causing problems and the patients aren't getting the real thing....So I don't know, It was on ABC News. I take 3 perscriptions that are almost $100.00 a month plus about 5 that are from $25.00 to $40.00 a month. For the ones that are almost $100.00 I am on a "Patients in need program" and anyone can get on if they draw less than $18,000 a year and don't have a bank account more than $2,000. So some may want to check the drug Co for such a program and also your Dr can tell you if your medication Mfg. has a patients program.

It's quite interesting to see your impressions about the pricing of an Internet-based pharmacy is Canada. The fact is... as soon as they get started, they will run into huge road blocks. The Canadian government regulates the crap out of drug prices and that's why everything is so cheap here relative to the US. Another fact is that as cheap as everything appears, Canadians will pay as much as 60% less for any of the drugs listed at their local drugstore.

What's the huge road block? The manufactures are beginning to refuse to sell to Internet-based pharmacies citing that their drugs are ONLY to be distributed in Canada. Until then, the pharmacies are getting very rich.

As long as they're getting the right drug, they are getting the real thing. There are a few things to keep in mind...

1) Canada has many of the same drugs as the US, but some of them are marketed under a different brand name...

2) the generic drug market is quite large and many of the drugs sold in Canada are basically only sold as a generic brand (ie. the original manufacture has pulled the "true" brand name drug off the market only leaving generics)

3) generic drug manufacturing standards in Canada are as high as the original manufacture

4) many of the generics out there (in Canada) are an exact copy of the original brand name drug... termed ultra-generics, these drugs are often manufactured by the original company and only packaged and distributed by the generic company

For example... Novo-Sertraline is 100% identical to Zoloft. The only way to tell the difference is the price and the external markings on the capsules. PMS-Fluoxetine is 100% identical to Prozac. Other brands cannot make this claim, but should be considered to be of high quality. Pricewise... these ultra-generics are about 40% cheaper.
