Prayers...please

Hi Folks...

I am requesting prayers for Mr Penny......he has advanced prostate cancer. He started treatment this week and is receiving hormone therapy. The hormone therapy will be followed by radiation treatments.

The Hormone Therapy has many possible side effects......the worst of them is that the therapy can cause Osteoporosis and Heart Disease. According to the Neurosurgeon, because Mr Penny's cancer is very advanced, this treatment is better than having the cancer removed surgically. (He is known to be the best Neurosurgeon in our area, so I trust his decision.)

As Mr Penny already has both Osteoporosis and Heart Disease, please pray that the Hormone Therapy does not make either of them worse, and that at the end of the Therapy/Radiation treatments he is cancer free.

Thanks everyone for having Mr Penny in your thoughts and prayers......and for the prayers for me too.

Too complicate matters, Mr Penny is also having some kidney problems & is seeing a kidney specialist. Had some tests done, but won't find out results until April.

I know that prayer works. My oldest son was diagnosed with advanced Lymphoma cancer in 2010....and was given only 6 weeks to live. He was on prayer chains all over the country, and he is alive and well and cancer free for 6 months now.

Lately, we spend most of our time seeing one doctor or another so I haven't been posting at WS very often lately. I will come back to this thread to give updates on Mr Penny's progress.

God the Father Does Have the Power to Heal You Sometimes when someone has been hit by an extreme sickness or disease, especially with one that may be considered terminal, our faith levels may be severely shaken – possibly to their core! You have been just diagnosed with terminal cancer and the doctors have now told you that you only have 6 more months to live.
Though you know God is all-powerful – your situation looks so hopeless and bleak, that you now start doubting whether or not God can really deliver you out of such a dire, extreme, and hopeless situation. You are so overwhelmed by the hopelessness of the situation, that you start forgetting how powerful God really is and that He does have the full supernatural power to be able to fully heal you – no matter how grave the situation may appear to you in the natural.
The Bible tells us that God the Father is no respecter of persons – which means He loves each person He has ever created equally and unconditionally. This tells us that if both God and Jesus were healing people back in both the OT [Old Testament] and NT [New testament] – then there is no reason we cannot approach Him for our own personal healing when we may need one in this day and age.
Believe God for a miracle and trust that the outcome is part of His perfect plan and divine order no matter what...
Remember – God the Father has the full power and full ability to accomplish anything that He will want to do. If He has the full, divine, supernatural power to create our entire world in 6 days – then I do not think He will have any problems in being able to fully heal you with whatever sickness or disease may have just struck your body.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Ephesians 3:20) Praying...

So sorry to hear about your illness, our prayers go out to you Mr. Penny, may you have patience, keep your spirits up, you will be OK.

This is the first time I have been able to get back here to give an update on Mr Penny's progress......we are spending our days in doctors' offices, and our evenings recuperating from all the running.

Mr Penny is doing as well as can be expected.....he is very tired; but then, so am I, as we seem to be spending our lives seeing doctors. (We are both worn out)

So far, he hasn't experienced any of the long list of possible side effects from the Hormone Therapy. He is extremely tired, but fits in naps here and there. (I think he is doing really good considering the number of diseases he is dealing with besides advanced prostate cancer.

It's impossible to express in words just how much we both appreciate all your kind words, and prayers. I know it is all the prayers being prayed that keep us going.
