Ok. Now do this; Read the directions very carefully. The tool does all the work, you just need to follow the directions and post back here with the log it will produce AFTER it shuts down the computer and boots it back up. The log will open up for you after the computer is fully booted. Just copy/paste it here like you have done with the Malwarebytes' logs.

Download AdwCleaner by Xplode from this link:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

Save it to your desktop.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A SPECIALIZED TOOL RUN ONLY WHEN DIRECTED TO DO SO WHEN SPECIFIC TYPES OF MALWARE ARE ALREADY SHOWN via a DDS Scan Logs and/or other tool logs to be on the computer.
IT SHOULD BE RUN ONLY ONE TIME.

THERE ARE TWO STEPS REQUIRED BUT RUN THE TOOL ITSELF ONCE ONLY. IF RUN MORE THAN ONCE THEN ORIGINAL REMOVALS DONE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE SEEN

CLOSE ALL other programs you have running....browsers, email programs. Letting those run while clean up tools to run slows the clean up immensely AND may not allow full clean up because many, if not most tools, cannot clean an open program. So close all that. Only open browser window AFTER the a tool has been run and used to clean and produces a log. Then open the one window and come back here and post the logs required.

Double click AdwCleaner to open it.

1. Hit the Scan button to have AdwCleaner to search your computer for unwanted programs and then display a log showing the various files, folders, and registry entries used by these programs. Once this search is complete you will see the words “PENDING” immediately move on to step 2.
2. NEXT Click on the Clean button, which will cause AdwCleaner to reboot your computer and remove the files and registry entries associated with the various adware that you are removing. On reboot, AdwCleaner will display a log showing the files, folders, and registry entries that were removed. Copy/paste that log here.

Please NOTE there are TWO steps so sure to absolutely BOTH steps before you come back here and post the log.

After seeing the log I will give you the next steps.

Ok. You know this tool and the next one I will give you only take about 5 minutes each to run. So we're talking "maybe" 15 minutes max.

Do no use the computer until you can use these tools.

Judy, I don't know if you noticed, but the mba-m she ran was with the wrong version, not the latest.

She needs to update her mba-m.

Yes, I did notice that and of course usually would be the first step given but in this case, just not now. She is having such difficulty completing any step, that is the least of worries at this time. Note it took four days to post the first log and it was NOT the original log that had done removals and the malware showing in the log posted had not been removed at the time of posting.

I have to presume the entire computer is way out of date since she is using a 4 year old version of Malwarebytes. Since the current version has an interface 100% different than the one she is using then changing this now could likely cause additional confusion and the cleanup could end up being impossible on her part.
The program IS functioning at present, as exhibited by the logs showing that the database IS current and malware has been removed, and if she can complete the download and running of all other tools then the update of the program will of course be next.

Thanks nightowl for being so vigilant and pointing that out. It is really a big help for anyone offering assistance to know that all others are walking hand in hand with the poster and the persons helping them.

No, you did NOT run the program fully. Log shows very clearly that you did ONE step only. Just the Scan part, you did NOT do the CLEAN part. All you did was scan and then reboot. That is wrong. Please read the steps again. There is nothing about those steps that are hard to understand .

You ran Part 1 just fine but you did NOT run Part 2.
Quote:
1. Hit the Scan button to have AdwCleaner to search your computer for unwanted programs and then display a log showing the various files, folders, and registry entries used by these programs. Once this search is complete you will see the words “PENDING” immediately move on to step 2.
You did NOT do Step 2.

Quote:

You are NOT supposed to reboot the computer. When you hit the Scan button the program will automatically do that itself without you doing anything else.

If you want to clean the computer then you MUST run the program again and do BOTH steps. There is absolutely nothing difficult about this.
Hit Scan and when scan is done then hit CLEAN.

Please do this Now. I will stick with you as long as you will complete the steps correctly. There is not one single step that is difficult, all of them are super easy.

If you do not feel you can do these very easy steps yourself then my advice is to take the computer to a shop and pay them to clean and update it. If you cannot do that then you do need to stop using the computer online.

Thank you for your trying to help this brain dead Senior. I do appreciate you trying. Sorry to say, I believe Dementia has set in and there is really no helping me.

Do you live alone? It sounds like you need to have somebody with you which makes me very concerned for your welfare. It sounds like you should not be alone.

As far as the computer goes there somebody nearby that can come in and complete the steps needed and post the results here in this thread for you?

These truly are easy steps.
Everybody makes mistakes but you seem to believe that is not true and so you are giving up so your computer still has malware on it.
We don't recommend any difficult tools here. We do want to help get your computer cleaned up.

Call a friend or family member asap.

I'm extremely sorry for being so stupid and wasting you time to try and get some help. As I mentioned, I was feeling very well and didn't read or work so well because of that. Plus my frustration of not knowing what I was doing. I should have waited until I was feeling better before I posted for some help.

I do apologize to you and I hope I didn't bother you very much. I will not take up your time and patience anymore.
Thank you for understanding,
Tidyup

Do you live alone? It sounds like you need to have somebody with you which makes me very concerned for your welfare. It sounds like you should not be alone.

As far as the computer goes there somebody nearby that can come in and complete the steps needed and post the results here in this thread for you?

These truly are easy steps.
Everybody makes mistakes but you seem to believe that is not true and so you are giving up so your computer still has malware on it.
We don't recommend any difficult tools here. We do want to help get your computer cleaned up.

Call a friend or family member asap.

Oh my word !! LOL I can't believe I read that. Holy Smokes, I'm just a little "under the weather" is all not Insane. I can only giggle at the moment but I thank you for your concern (I think).

I will call family and friend because they would love to read your post )))
They will all be greatly amused with your misunderstanding. We thank you for the giggles

What a total insult. Now I know this entire thread has been a con game. What else was a person to think? How do I know without a doubt this entire thread has been nothing but a con game?

These Posts:
Quote:
5,( I'm a little under the weather and not thinking AT ALL.) 9 (I've forgotten how to do that
Bit of Dementia setting in); 14,
(flu bug, sick in bed, brain isn’t working very well); 15, (mess up brushing my teeth these day); 16 (now even this message isn't working, 19, (I'm not thinking very good... I just can't think); 24,(I've been sick and just today saw this message); 28, (I'm sure I messed it up); 30, (Thank you for your trying to help this brain dead Senior...I believe Dementia has set in); 31, (Since I'm too sick to be helped I will just Close this thread)
I tried to truly give you help and based on all of the posts noted above, I was honestly concerned for your personal welfare and now you laugh at my trying to help.

If you need help then you should look elsewhere cause you sure never will get any from me.

Your above statement I found Very condescending and insulting towards my telling you that I was sick. NOT sick as you imply, but actually just a little “under the weather” as in a flue bug or something. After the shock of your words wore off I then felt amused to your misunderstanding and had to reply to you:

All is good at my end now and my computer problem is fixed thank you. You can be assured I won’t bother you again. Lol You’ll suggest I have my friends and family over again to help me out.

Oh, and thanks for asking, but my flue bug or whatever seems to have gone.
Everything is all better now!))

You take care J.Holland

I missed seeing this and I do owe a HUGE APOLOGY to everyone that tried to help me. I'm really VERY VERY SORRY and I'm so embarrassed for being so ignorant.
My being ill doesn't excuse me in the least. I should have waited until I felt better and had at least some part of my brain working.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME

I forgot to mention that I ended taking my computer into the shop to make sure I had removed all the Malware. There was not Malware so I guess I managed to get it all and it fixed the problem I originally asked about
