I have a Nook that the start screen comes up but the icon that you put on the Pad lock to open it doesn't show up so I can't get into my Nook.
Any suggestions?
I used it last night and it was fine. tried to get on this am and not letting me.
This has never happened before.

This is forum is really for computers. We do have a section for Tech Gadgets - Smart phones, tablets, and more.

But based on the fact that this is only the 2nd question asked about a Nook in 5 years, and that other question also came from you, chances of receiving assistance here is doubtful. In that past question you were advised to check at the Nook Support Sites and I would recommend that again. You should receive more help and faster than you might receive here.

Here are two links you should try:

https://help.barnesandnoble.com/app/nook_support/list

No apology required of course. I only gave the advice so that you would have a better chance of getting an answer. Evidently Nooks are not used much here because you have been the only person ever to ask a question.

As for no answer yet at Barnes & Noble, you have to give people or helpers at anyplace you post a question time to have somebody give you an answer.

Based on your question this is a brand new today problem so you can't have had the question posted there very long. Give it time.

This link https://help.barnesandnoble.com/app/nook_support/list

has email help, telephone help, live chat help and text help available, did you try any of those? I would start with Live Chat help if I was having trouble. If nothing else they can lead you in the right direction.

Also; the first time you asked a question about a Nook was in December 2012. At that time you didn't own a Nook you just asked about them. Did you buy this Nook shortly after you asked the question? If so that would make this Nook over four years old. Might just be getting old. If it is newer than that, is it still under warranty? That would be an option for you if that is the case.

Do you have a manual for the Nook? The answer could be in the Manual

Is it a Barnes and Noble Nook or a Samsung Galaxy Nook or a Nook e-Reader?

All three of those have manuals on this link;

https://help.barnesandnoble.com/app/...UxQSUyMSUyMQ==

Just choose the one for your model.

Nook Problem

I had a similar experience with my Nook. It got stuck and would not let me change the screen. I pressed and held in till the whole thing went blank and left it off for a few seconds. When I turned it back on it was fine. I guess it reset itself. Hope it works for you.
