Post Social Media? Yay or nay?

Love it or hate it social media is here to stay. Social media is all the 'vibe' in the news and certainly younger internet users. Do you use social media such as Facebook, or Twitter? What are your thoughts on social media?

I use Facebook for various newsgroups and to keep in touch with my nephews and nieces.

But the information I keep on there is almost nil.

I am a Facebook addict. With kids scattered across the country, it's a great way to keep in touch! I recently signed up for Twitter due to a new social media position that I've taken on. I really think Twitter is overrated.

I am on facebook, very little. Friends from many years ago and found and contacted me through it and I have contact with relatives that I know I would not have much contact if it wasn't F/B.

I use Facebook also. It's for family & close friends only. I'm very private on it.

I use Facebook, Twitter and more recently Google+. I like them all. At first i found twitter rather confusing but the more you use it and search things, the better it becomes. I use twitter mainly for sport.

I don't use social media at all unless you include WorldStart / e-mail / telephone or snail mail to keep in touch with friends and family. I shouldn't think that anyone else is interested in my life at all.

I am on facebook, a good way to keep in touch with family scattered all over the country. I too have groups from highschool and my hometown, as well as different organizations I belong to. I had a twitter account but got rid of it because I honestly did not care for it. I have google + but don't use it either as I forget I have it. Also have Linkden, but have yet to do anything at all with it.

Social media is good to use in a personal way and text-of-hand(like word-of-mouth) work for every business. For instance, if my friends reviews nice about something, i'll not hesitate to buy it. Such is the power of social media. But I'm not sure if they sell goods directly from their website, if it will work or not.
