Thanks Kerrie, I use Picasa and Photoshop most of the time but I've bookmarked Fotofunia which looks like fun when I'm snowed in and looking to amuse my friends. Thanks.

Look like fun sites, when you have time to play.

Blend / feathered edge photo

I've been looking for any easy to use, free site for creating a blend collage. Oddly enough I found one fo iOS system, that just by running your finger round the phot frame, you then have a festered edge, just what I want, but I would like something similar for my laptop, windows, does anyone have anything that would do this please.

Picasa 3 (free & easy ) has an option to create several types of collage which I've used successfully but as I don't know what a festered edge is I don't know how you would get one !

PS Just had a thought; did you mean a "feathered" edge? If you go to Picasa , view and edit , there is a vignette option which can be adapted to give a shaded edge , however strong or whatever colour you want.

I have recently reinstalled picasa and will look at your suggestion. The sort of thing I would like to be able to achieve, is like these two examples.

https://itunes.apple.com/GB/app/id422301314?mt=8

You know what, I think you may have it, or at least something that will achieve the same/similar results. By selecting the vignette colour and then have an identical back ground colour, it could work. So I am going to trasnfer dome photo's from ipad to laptop, then have a try. I'd like to think I/we will have a finished result hopefully today. I say hopefully as I am still feeling groggy from emergency medication I needed to take yesterday. Either way, I will bring a copy here. The next thing is to find a font like rope ??????, I have a nautical garden and would like to use the house name in the finished result but spelt out in rope.

PS again, first google finds one http://www.fontspace.com/category/rope

This a photo with a vignette , hastily done so not very good but I think it is what you might want.

I need permission to view your pic, but I have the name and it looks suitable

yorkshire lass. I think picasa has changed regarding collages since I did one years ago, so not much progress made.

Having selected collage, I click on a folder where the photo's I would use are, about a dozen, but the entire contents of 189 photo's shoot over. Ideally I would have selected those I wish to use, by highlighting them one by one.

I have found the easy way to do it, is to go to Picasa, select the photos you want to put in the collage first of all , then go to Create/ Picture collage and proceed from there to select the collage you want .

Yes, I selected those that I feel would be ideal, then created a new folder, then when I highlighted that folder and create collage, there they are. I then tried the vignette and that too seemed to be suitable, but couldn't find an identical background, so will resume tomorrow.

I cheated, I bought some software from App Store. But did it whilst laid up with kidney problems. What I will do next, is to send it to myself, then pick it up on laptop, do add a few things, but that's for another day.
