eBook download?

Hi!
One of the senior citizens of our local Council on Aging, asked me the following question, that,if her daughter bought an ebook, can she(her mother),get it also on her iPad?In other words, can she send the book to her mother,as an attachement?
Hopefully there is one of you that can give an answer.
Thanks in advance!
Matt.

I don't believe that's possible. I'm sure that iPad has a book reader which requires you to buy their books. Apple tends to be proprietary like that.

Yes she can but will need a Computer I often send ebooks to friends as an attachment in an email, and without having to ZIP them first, remember though that most ebooks read the MOBI format and Ipad uses EPUB format as well as PDF....but that does matter for if you want to send the Mobi ebook to her just convert it first to EBUP(Ipad) using Calibre (Free) Calibre is very easy to use plus if want can read any Format Ebook on your computer also....you can get Calibre here: http://calibre-ebook.com/ a good idea also is to play the demo at the Calibre home page.
