Kingsoft Office has changed its name to WPS Office.
I have changed from Libre Office to WPS on Windows 8.1 and like it very much.
I changed to avoid using Java which is required for some features of Libre.

May I recommend PhoXo - a very lightweight free & open-source image editor (only 4MB d/l)
I have just given it a try out and I am very impressed. It loads in an instant and the interface is similar to Adobe Photoshop, although don't expect it to do everything PS can.

Thank you so much for all of this information. Given it is now 2017, some of the information may not pertain anymore, but I truly find helpful articles that help me keep my computer clean and running smoothly. And yes, there are paid programs that are NOT as good as many free ones. These days you really have to have a watchful eye and never, ever download anything without doing a ton of research first.
