Troubleshooting Internet Explorer & Firefox

Clear browser cache in Internet Explorer
Open Internet Explorer. Click the Tools Menu > Internet Options.
Click the general tab. Under browsing history click the delete button.
Remove the check from “preserve favorite’s website data”
Put a check in temporary internet files, cookies and history.
If you would like to delete download history, form data, passwords and tracking protection select those check boxes.
Click the delete button. Click Ok when finished and restart Internet Explorer.

Clear browser cache in Mozilla Firefox
Open Mozilla Firefox. Click the history menu > clear recent history.
In the time range to clear drop down menu choose “everything”
Put a check in browsing and download history, cookies, and cache.
If you would like to delete form and search history, active logins, offline website data and site preferences select those check boxes.
Click the clear now button. When finished restart Mozilla Firefox.

Start Internet Explorer with no add-on’s
In Windows XP and Windows 7, click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
In Windows 8.1, running Internet Explorer 10 or 11, right click the start menu and click run. In the run line type or copy and paste the following command and then click ok.
"%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" –extoff
You can also create a shortcut on the desktop to run Internet Explorer without add-on’s.
Go to the desktop, right click a blank area and from the right click menu choose New > Shortcut.
The create new shortcut wizard will open. Type or copy and paste the following command into the location field and then click next.
"%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" –extoff
In the type a name for the shortcut field type Internet Explorer No Add-On’s. Click finish.
A new shortcut will be placed on your desktop. When you want to start Internet Explorer without Add-on’s simply double click the shortcut.

Start Mozilla Firefox with no add-ons
Open Mozilla Firefox. Click the help menu > restart with add-ons disabled.
You can also use the run line to start Mozilla Firefox in safe mode.
In Windows XP and Windows 7, click Start > Run. In Windows 8.1 right click the start menu and click run.
In the run line type or copy and paste the following command.
Firefox -safe-mode
The Mozilla Firefox safe mode menu will open. Click start in safe mode.

Reset Internet Explorer
Open Internet Explorer. Click the Tools Menu > Internet Options.
Click the advanced tab. Click the reset button.
In the reset menu you can put a check in reset personal settings if you would like to delete all personal settings including browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, Tracking Protection, and ActiveX Filtering data.
Click reset. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting click the close button. Click OK and restart Internet Explorer.

Reset Mozilla Firefox
Open Mozilla Firefox. Click the Help Menu > Troubleshooting Information.
Click the reset Firefox button. To continue, click Reset Firefox in the confirmation window that opens.
Firefox will close and be reset. When finished, a window will list the information that was imported. Click finish and restart Firefox.
