Importing/Exporting Internet Explorer Favorites & Firefox Bookmarks

Exporting Internet Explorer Favorites
1) First create a folder where the favorites list will be saved. Open your documents folder. Click the file menu > new > folder. Or right click a blank area of the open window and choose new > folder. Name the folder Internet Explorer Favorites MM-DD-YY. Close that window.
2) Open Internet Explorer.
3) Click the file menu > import/export. The import/export wizard will open.
4) Select export to a file. Click next.
5) Put a check in favorites. Click next. You will have the option to export all of your favorites or just one folder. To export the entire list select favorites. To export just a folder, select the folder then click next.
6) In the next window click the browse button and choose the location on your computer where you want to save the favorites list. Choose the folder you created in your documents folder. Click next. The favorites list will be exported and saved in the location you chose.

Importing Internet Explorer Favorites
1) Open Internet Explorer.
2) Click the file menu > import/export. The import/export wizard will open.
3) Choose import from a file. Click next.
4) Put a check in favorites. Click next.
5) Click the browse button and browse to the location where the favorites list is saved.
6) Select the file and click open. Click the next button.
7) Click import. Click finish.

Exporting Firefox Bookmarks
1) First create a folder where the bookmarks list will be saved. Open your documents folder. Click the file menu > new > folder. Or right click a blank area of the open window and choose new > folder. Name the folder Firefox Bookmarks MM-DD-YY. Close that window.
2) Open Firefox.
3) Click the bookmarks menu > show all bookmarks.
4) On the toolbar click import and backup. A menu will open.
5) Choose export bookmarks to HTML.
6) In the export bookmark file window browse to the location on your computer where you want to save the bookmark list. Choose the folder you created in your documents folder.
7) Click the save button.
8) The bookmark file will be saved. Click the X on the title bar to close the Firefox library window.

Import Firefox Bookmarks
1) Open Firefox.
2) Click the bookmarks menu > show all bookmarks.
3) On the toolbar click import and backup.
4) A menu will open.
5) Choose import bookmarks from HTML.
6) The import wizard window will open.
7) Select from an HTML file.
8) Click next.
9) The import bookmark file window will open.
10) Browse to the location where the bookmark file is saved.
11) Select the file and click open.
12) The bookmark file will be imported. Click the X on the title bar to close the Firefox library window.
