Adobe Flash Player

Adobe Flash Player is a free software program for viewing multimedia content, executing rich Internet applications, and streaming video and audio in your web browser. Flash Player should be updated regularly.

You can check to see what version of Adobe Flash Player you currently have installed by going to the Adobe test page here.

Adobe Flash Player Test Site

When you visit the web site the Adobe Flash Player version you have installed will be displayed. Visit the web site using each browser you have installed. You may find that you have different versions of Adobe Flash Player installed for different browsers.

When you are using Internet Explorer as your web browser, Flash Player is installed as an ActiveX plug-in. Installing Flash Player in Internet Explorer does not install it in the other browsers you may be using.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, Pale Moon, Opera or Netscape Flash Player is installed as a browser plug-in. When you install Flash Player in any of those browsers it is also installed in the other browsers.

Google Chrome comes with Flash Player integrated in the browser. You do not need to install it in Chrome.

Note: When you go to the Adobe Flash Player web site to download Flash Player you will be prompted to install additional software such as Google Chrome, McAfee Security Scan, etc. There will be a check in the box next to that option. Remove the check before downloading Flash Player. You do not need the additional software that is being offered.

Save the installation file to your desktop.
Before installing a new version of Adobe Flash Player you should uninstall the previous version and reboot your computer. Adobe has an uninstaller available for download. You can get it here.

Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller

Save the uninstaller file to your desktop. Close any programs you have open. Double click the installation file to start the installation. Follow the prompts to uninstall Adobe Flash Player. When the uninstall is complete reboot your computer. It is important to reboot the computer because Internet Explorer may not clear all Adobe Flash Player ActiveX control files until the computer has been restarted.

After rebooting, install Adobe Flash Player. When the installation is complete reboot your computer.

Keep Adobe Flash Player up to date. Updates patch security holes and other flaws found in the program, each version update may also include improvements to the software.

If you have problems installing or uninstalling Adobe Flash Player visit the Adobe Flash Player troubleshooting site for more information.
